Our Story

When Julia and I started our lives together a little over a decade ago, we saw the world's state and how, as a society, we were headed toward a catastrophic end.

Climate issues aside, we noticed the health effects of an ever-increasing presence of chemicals in our food supply.

It became apparent that the increased cases of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses were all inextricably linked to the overuse of chemicals in our food.

We wanted to live in harmony with the natural state and to heal and replenish the soil on our little corner of the earth.

In short, we wanted to shield ourselves from the negative consequences of our overly industrialized world.

We dove headfirst into the teachings of regenerative masters. We discovered the incredible importance of cattle in healing the land, rebuilding our soil, and providing high-quality meat to nourish us.

When managed correctly, cattle build soil, increase water retention, and sow carbon into the soil.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media and diet "dictocrats" told us that cattle were destroying the earth. They were saying that red meat was unhealthy.

The weird thing is they were partially correct.

When taken out of context, the cows that would heal the environment begin to wreak havoc instead.

Instead of green grass, they eat GMO grains. They are regularly shot up with pharmaceuticals to help them stay alive, and the carbon cycling is not happening because they are not grazing in the pasture.

When you take cattle out of their natural context, it causes many problems! However, I think it is unfair to put these animals in a bad context and then blame them for the disastrous result.

We raise our cattle differently!

We run our herd on just over 200 acres of pasture, providing fresh grass and water daily.

We also supplement with free-choice loose minerals that allow cows to get the perfect balance of minerals for optimal health.
(hint: mineral-rich cows make for mineral-rich meat!)

Our cows don't even know what a grain bucket is. Sun, fresh forage, minerals, water, and attentive care is our recipe for healthy and happy cows!

We went off into the deep end of sustainable agriculture and are catching well over a million gallons of water a year. Our permaculture design system has added a great network of water-storing swales and ponds, giving abundant water to the landscape and the wildlife.

Our property is at the highest point in our geographic area, so our watershed is controlled, and we don't have any potentially chemical-filled runoff from any neighboring properties.

We are so grateful to run our herd on this beautiful land we call home, and we want you to be part of our story.

Our goal is to provide our food family with nourishing and delicious meat. We want to help others in their health journey, and we believe that pastured meats are a great way to get started!
