Do you use Vaccines?
We don't use vaccines as a rule. Some farmers believe them to be required to keep animals alive. However, we are doing just fine without them.
When we buy replacement cattle from other farms, they may have received an early vaccine when they were young, but we try to source our cows as naturally as possible.
We don't trust vaccines, and we do not have a regular vaccination program.
Do you use Antibiotics?
We never use antibiotics as a whole herd treatment. Occasionally, we will use an antibiotic to heal a sick animal. We think it would be animal abuse just to let them die.
Additionally, being antibiotic-free at the grocery store does not mean they were not given antibiotics. It means they didn't receive any shortly before slaughter.
We believe our practices are as pure as they can be without being responsible for animal abuse.
Do you use Herbicides?
We never treat our pastures with any herbicides or chemicals of any kind.
Is your meat organic?
We are not certified organic, because that is a costly process and we feel like is really just a label used when there isn't a transparent relationship with the farmer. But we would say we are "beyond organic" and especially focus on regenerating the land & managing our cattle in a way that builds and heals the soil. See below for details on what we do or don't give our cows.
Are your cows given any grain?
Our cows are 100% grass-fed and finished, meaning they only eat grass/forage and hay and are given free-choice minerals (which they can self-select based on what their bodies need.)
They never consume any grain or feed supplements.
We also DO NOT feed them alfalfa hay, as many "grass-fed" producers do, because the vast majority of alfalfa is GMO.
Do you sell regular ground beef without the organs in addition to your Whole Cow Ground Beef?
We are SO passionate about the health benefits of consuming the "Whole Cow" with the organs and all... AND... we are so confident that anyone who tries our Whole Cow Ground Beef will never want to go back to regular ground beef again, that we exclusively offer it "Whole Cow" style
Can we come to your farm and see how your cows are raised?
ABSOLUTELY!!! We LOVE to have people come out and meet us and our cows. Reach out to us via the Contact Us page and we can arrange a good time!
Do you ship outside of Oklahoma?
Great Question...At this exact moment, we only offer shipping within Oklahoma, but we are hoping to expand our shipping region soon! So if you are outside of Oklahoma, then sign up for our Newsletter (at the bottom of this page) so that you will be the first to find out when we expand our shipping zones.
